◆Establishment
In 1988, the Boys' Football League was formed and the first autumn league match began.
It was founded by Kaoru Kubota, following the will of the late president Joe Tomlin who was the founder of the Pop Warner League, the largest junior football league organization in the United States.
◆The main point of the Chestnut League
The main point of the Chestnut League is not a place of technical instruction to grow a football superstar. It is a place to foster compassion and cooperation through united teamwork to carry the ball forward, and a fair spirit to fight through the football under the sun that pours around with players. We have partnered with the Pop Warner League, the largest junior football organization in the United States and especially have learned the importance of fair play in sportsmanship. In order to contribute to the further development of the league by the spirit of fair play in the Chestnut League, we made a Fair Play Declaration in 2012 with our players, coaches and staffs.
◆Basic philosophy
In order for football to be a good sport, you and others must be respected persons. The Chestnut League has the following items as its basic policy, the below-mentioned items will be based on the following principles in the hope that one day we will see naughty youngsters wearing helmets and running around the field.

  1. We aim not just to win but to develop a healthy body and a healthy mind in both inside and outside of the field.
  2. We aim to maximize the safety and enjoyment for everyone.
  3. We cultivate teamwork, caring heart, dedication, and sincerity as values for continuing the rest of our lives.
  4. We will not provide personal recognition for activities in the field.
  5. We do not cut or tryout from players and cheer teams.
  6. We will also promote educational matters for coaches and parents of the Chestnut League.
